Hoarseman and the Heard released album today called “Notre Dame is burning.”

Lincka did a City Hall Sessions with Mayor David Holt, and that will be online soon!

Pedro The Lion is headed to OKC August 8 at Tower Theatre along with mewithoutYou! He’s known for taking pauses in the music to talk about issues facing him and the world at large along with a brief Q&A from the audience. Lately, he’s been attacking toxic masculinity in a way that’s sincere and devastating. The new songs also have a lot of joy and innocence in them, and the full band with light show brings a great rock vibe. Buy tickets online now!

The Oddyssey is releasing single August 9 called “Fresh Air.”

It was just recently announced that Oklahoma-based Broncho and Republican hair will open for Kings of Leon at the opening of Scissortail Park Sept. 27!

There is a new project called Hott Handz (with members of Bad Jokes and The So Help Mes). They are opening for Calliope Musicals from Austin at Ponyboy August 25. Doors at 7:30. Hott Handz is an indie punk band formed in Oklahoma City in early 2019. Their music is built around the playful songwriting of guitarist/vocalist, Bradley Morris and showcases whimsically curious lyrical play laced over sweet and simple chord progressions, often juxtaposed by gritty throws of lead guitar and whoopee vocal utterances.

We just did an article about some of our favorite releases from Oklahoma artists so far in 2019. We know there’s so much more to look forward to this year, and we can’t wait for more releases!

One Two Ten just released their single, “Heathers!”

Kat Lock is releasing her music video for Biggest Mistake in Aug 15! Filmed and edited by Liliana Campon, and starring several other local artists.

The Blue Door and Kessler Presents are proud to bring Patty Griffin and John Fullbright to The Auditorium at The Douglass. Bobby Chill and the Wave is a surfy pop band from Norman, and they have been playing together for almost a year. Check them out on Spotify below!

Elizabeth Speegle is so excited for her upcoming release of “Georgia” in August. There’s a ton of amazing musicians featured on this new song like Spunk Adams, Garrison Brown, Kendrick McKinney, and so many others! Look for the release soon!

The Jared Lowery Quartet will be at Zannottis Wine Bar August 10.

Josh Roberts just released a new song “Love Back” on all streaming platforms! He also has a ton of upcoming shows listed below, including two gigs at the amazing Sanctuary Barsilica.

Dinosaur Boyfriend just moved to OKC from a small town in northern Oklahoma and are very excited to be apart of the OKC music scene. They just released their debut EP on all streaming platforms. Dinosaur Boyfriend is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Mario Amador, joined with friend Ted Morphis on bass and Robbie Jones on drums. Listen to their tunes on Spotify below!

We just announced something huge. OkSessions is proud to be partnering with Myriad Gardens for the 1969 music fest, honoring the most iconic music festival of all time – Woodstock. It will be open and FREE to the public August 17. The lineup is incredible – some of the best local artists in Oklahoma. You won’t want to miss it. Read more about it below!

Folk rock/red dirt band Cade Roth and the Blacksheep just released a 5 song EP. The songs are about the hardships of life and getting through them, along with one love song. The EP is available on all music outlets, Spotify, ITunes, Apple Music, etc…and you can pickup a hard copy at a show.

Steven Thorn is a Norman musician who has been a groomsman 9 times, but, on July 26, he’s “throwing a wedding” to play songs from his upcoming album, Groomsman. Local DJ Keegan Kirkhart will be MCing the after-party dance reception, and SconedCity will be providing scones, punch, chocolate fountains, and more. Check out his music on Spotify below.

Westering is a five-piece Indie outfit from OKC. Their influences range from Deathcab For Cutie to Kings of Leon to Circa Survive. Earlier this month, they released the single, “1976”, ahead of their self-titled EP out July 27th. They have an EP release show on July 27th at the Paramount Room in OKC.

Our friend Evan Jarvicks (Jarvix) is playing a pop-up show at Dig it! in the Plaza on Friday night (July 19) during Skate on the Plaza! 7-9 p.m.!

Our good friend John Schlenner just wrote up an incredible review of Kat Lock’s new EP You Again, which you can read below! Kat is also excited to announce that she’s working on a new music video, havin’ a keyboard replacement party at the deli on Saturday, and playing at the Eskimo Sno 20 year anniversay August 10 and at the Resonator August 17!

Season 2 of Skirvin Jazz Club is starting ON FRIDAY, (July 19) which is huge. Here’s a blog post all about it. You won’t want to miss this. Oh, and speaking of jazz news, the incredible Bill Pearson will be at Saints on Thursday!

Channel 13 is an alt-pop band based out of OKC (made up of Saxon Bryant and Sam Marino). They have a lot going on! Their new single “Underwater” will be available on all major streaming platforms THIS FRIDAY (july 19), so stay tuned for that! This is their 5th single release within the last 10 months. They’ve been working hard recording lately, and their next recording date is set for August 23 at Closet Studios in Tulsa with the incredible Kendal Osborne. Keep up with them on social to follow along with their musical journey.

Peyton Benge just released a new single on July 12 titled “Steve Carell (Prod. by Lasik Beats)”. About the single, Benge said “essentially the track is just 3 and a half minutes of me hyperbolically flexing my Apple Watch to mock the current wave of materialism in hip-hop music.”

Jabee was just featured in Grand Casino’s live music/interview series “Play it Loud.” This is one of the coolest things to come out of Oklahoma music in years, so we would highly recommend watching this series. In his interview with “Play it Loud” host Adam Hampton, Jabee talked about his passion for hip-hop and the art of giving back.

There’s a new single out from Kingdom of Ashes, which you can check out below! About the single, the band said “trying to tell a story by painting pictures through sonic ecstasy is our goal.”

L.T.Z. has an album coming out, entitled “Love & Best Wishes,” late August-September. He’s performed at Tower Theatre, Plaza District, and Norman Music Festival.
