Amplify Hotsheet: Week of May 29
Audra Mae, the L.A./Nashville based singer/songwriter penning songs for artists such as Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, and Miranda Lambert, will be returning to Oklahoma to perform at the Blue Door on June 15th. Concert proceeds will benefit the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma (ACM@UCO).
Mike Hosty is working on an album and just did some tracks up in Tulsa at Dave Teegarden’s (he was the drummer for Bob Seger). At the recording sessions, Hosty had:
- Jamie Oldaker on Drums (Jamie played with Clapton from 74-85 and is playing with him in Sept at the Crossroads Music Fest In Dallas Sept 21…he played drums on ‘I Shot the Sheriff” “Cocaine” “Wonderful Tonight”)
- Gary Gilmore played the bass (Gary played with Taj Mahal on “She Caught the Katy” And is in The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus movie being re released soon. The Stones have released a track of Taj Mahal, with Gary On Bass, from the Rock and Roll Circus sessions on Spotify… Gary also played with JJ Cale and Gary Lewis and the Playboys)
- And Rockn Jimmy Byfield on Guitar (Jimmy wrote a song “Little Rachel” that Clapton had recorded in mid 70’s and also had a band called the Brothers of the Night that were big in early 80’s Tulsa)
Hosty hopes to finish up in July and release by Nov or Dec along with some live tracks with Oldaker where Hosty played bass with my feet while playing Guitar and singing.
The Kelleys are putting on a benefit show to buy school supplies for kids who cannot afford them featuring Schat and The Skeleton Trees, Santiago Ramones, Amon and The Creatures, The Nobodys, Treason 58, The Kelleys, and Our Condolences.
Trish Hosein is an LA-based urban pop musician, spoken word artist, visual artist, and activist known as TRISHES. She’s bringing her art gallery and performance pop-up “The Ego Experience,” to the Tower Theatre on June 9th with OKC-based Jabee. The event focuses on minorities’ relationships with the government, money, and language. Guests will hear music from TRISHES’ five-song EP “Ego” and will experience artwork from local artists like Cread Bayliss and a performance from Layers of Pink. Exclaim! Magazine says “the debut record by urban pop artist TRISHES is a trip… (Ego) is a conscious electro-pop, R&B and hip-hop-rooted communiqué about identity, alienation and humanity.”
The Sweet Talkers has been hard at work in the studio with Johnny Manchild the past few months, and they’ve now completed their first EP album “Electric Affair.” They are set to release on May 31st, and then they play at the Deli with Sophia Massad and New Time Zones June 1. Johnny will be playing keys that night, and they say he’ll be joining them for a special song, so stay tuned.
S. Reidy, a Norman Hip Hop artist is releasing his mixtape “A Mixtape” on May 31. It’s gonna be dope. Stay tuned.

Paseo Arts fest is this weekend – May 26-28! Below is a lineup of all the musicians performing. Check it out, y’all.
Isaac McClung is in the studio this week finishing up his debut album The Last Wildflowers, and he’s playing Paseo Arts Fest this Saturday at 7:45 on North Stage!
Reddened Monarch Music Festival is a new music festival about love, transformation, and building understanding in Oklahoma City. Check it out on June 12, and stay tuned for updates.
Kat lock is performing at Paseo Arts fest on the South Stage Sunday May 26. Kat says the audience can wear dad rocker chic if they want to match the band. She is also playing Rooftop Hop June 4. Kat is currently working on her EP, which will be announced soon.
Rooftop Hop is a weekly music festival in Chisholm Creek every Tuesday until June 11 6-9! Check out a blog post about the event as well as a Youtube video made by the amazing Adam Ray.
Joe Consedine and Phil Rice released their first track on Spotify. The single is synth pop and Christian music.
Andrew Tycksen recently started a band called Circles and Stories, a moody alternative rock band. It started as a senior project from Tycksen at SNU, but they soon decided that they wanted to make it a reality, and so their 8-song album, Agnes, will drop on all platforms this Saturday, May 25.

Here’s what’s happening in OKC’s Music Scene this week.
The Allman Betts Band will kick off 2019 with a new Allman Betts Band album and a Worldwide tour that will feature new music, songs from their solo projects and classic Allman Brothers and Gregg Allman tunes in honor of the 50th Anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band. They are bringing their show to the Tower Theatre May 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets are for sale online!
Donald McLean III is an American singer-songwriter, best known for his 1971 hit song “American Pie”, an 8.5-minute folk rock “cultural touchstone” about the loss of innocence of the early rock and roll generation. He’s comin’ to Tower Theatre May 4th. Tickets are available online!
