OKC Mayor David Holt just announced that Kings of Leon will perform at the highly-anticipated opening of Scissortail park on Sept. 27!

L.T.Z. has an album coming out, entitled “Love & Best Wishes,” late August-September. He’s performed at Tower Theatre, Plaza District, and Norman Music Festival.

Laine and Julius have been collaborating on a new album that just wrapped up this week inspired from electronic, country, and pop sounds.

Lindsey Cox has a new project called stepmom and is currently working on releasing a single by July! With dreamy three part harmonies, ambient cello and synth contrasted with angsty guitar riffs and powerful lead vocals, stepmom represents the conflicted feelings of giving into the systems that control our lives while still trying to find meaning and purpose in the world. stepmom features Lindsey Cox (Lead vocals and guitar), Danielle Szabo (Keys, violin, vocals), (Cheyenne Rain – Cello, vocals), and Josh Carpenter (Drums). stepmom is on Facebook and Instagram. Kat Lock is releasing her debut album “You Again” July 12 with a show that same night at 89th St. Collective.

Don’t Tell Dena released a new album titled “Welcome to Rad City” on May 31st.  Available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music etc. Here is Don’t Tell Dena’s schedule for the next few weeks:

Sereno is headlining a show in El Reno June 29 at Vices Bar. Sereno is a heavy metal band that has worked with Grammy winning producer Trent Bell. They just got off a year hiatus and are ready to jump back into some incredible shows. There will be several bands and acts there. It’s for a good cause to raise money for stage 5 kidney disease.

Spinster is releasing their debut album this weekend, June 28, with a release show at the Opolis. Read more about that show and the new project from Spinster below!

Tyler Sexton released his new singles, “U Got” and “U Don’t Know.”

Oklahoma husband/wife duo, The Imaginaries – Shane Henry (guitar, vocals) and Maggie McClure (keys, piano, vocals) – recently finished recording their debut album, their first together as The Imaginaries.

Special Thumbs is released their new single “Rise” June 21. Special Thumbs also has new summer merch on their online store.

Mike Hosty is working on an album and just did some tracks up in Tulsa at Dave Teegarden’s (he was the drummer for Bob Seger). Hosty hopes to finish up in July and release by Nov or Dec along with some live tracks with Oldaker where Hosty played bass with my feet while playing Guitar and singing. The Sweet Talkers has been hard at work in the studio with Johnny Manchild the past few months, and they’ve now completed their first EP album “Electric Affair.” A review of that EP is found below!

Brian Gorrell & Jazz Company will be giving a concert this upcoming Saturday, June 8 from 8-11pm at Untitled Artspace. The show will feature Brian on saxophone along with talents of Garrett “Big G” Jacobson on keyboards, Dave Bowen on drums and Nelson Gonzalez on bass.

Don’t Tell Dena released a new album on May 31st titled Welcome To Rad City.  They will be playing an all ages show at The Resonator in Norman with PAX and Bedtime on June 10th.

The incredible Josh Roberts will be releasing his first single in 10 years this summer, and he’s got some upcoming shows in OKC listed below.

Audra Mae, the L.A./Nashville based singer/songwriter penning songs for artists such as Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, and Miranda Lambert, will be returning to Oklahoma to perform at the Blue Door on June 15th. Concert proceeds will benefit the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma (ACM@UCO). 

The Reddened Monarch Festival is June 12th! This new music event honors and benefits OKC’s homeless. We will bus them in, feed them, and put together a great show. All are welcome! Learn more at oksessions.com/redmonarch.

The Kelleys are putting on a benefit show to buy school supplies for kids who cannot afford them featuring Schat and The Skeleton Trees, Santiago Ramones, Amon and The Creatures, The Nobodys, Treason 58, The Kelleys, and Our Condolences. 

Trish Hosein is an LA-based urban pop musician, spoken word artist, visual artist, and activist known as TRISHES. She’s bringing her art gallery and performance pop-up “The Ego Experience,” to the Goose Gallery on June 9th with OKC-based Jabee. The event focuses on minorities’ relationships with the government, money, and language. Guests will hear music from TRISHES’ five-song EP “Ego” and will experience artwork from local artists like Cread Bayliss and a performance from Layers of Pink. Exclaim! Magazine says “the debut record by urban pop artist TRISHES is a trip… (Ego) is a conscious electro-pop, R&B and hip-hop-rooted communiqué about identity, alienation and humanity.”
