OKC-based indie band Spinster is releasing their debut album June 28 with a show at the Opolis that night to celebrate. They will be joined by Maddie Razook and Charlie Bumgarner, with the show kicking off at 8 p.m.
Spinster is fronted by Jo Babb of the Americana group The Annie Oakley.
When the band went on hiatus, Jo picked up her guitar and learned how to change her sound, tapping into an indie rock groove in her summer boredom. Learn more about her journey into indie rock with her guest article below.
The album deals with questions of self-doubt, questioning, and noxious love.
Spinster just recently released their second single “Sisyphus,” continuing their mythological theme from their first single, “Achilles.”
Spinster is made up of a stellar team of local musicians including members of Mad Honey and Swim Fan, so you know this will be spectacular.
Stay tuned for the self-titled release album of “Spinster.”
