Saints Sessions had heck of a year in 2017. We are so grateful for everyone who became part of the community from our first feature to our last. January is looking great, as more and more jazz artists see Thursdays at Saints as the premier jazz experience in OKC. Here’s who’s swingin’ in January.
First Thursday Saints Sessions ft. Oliver Holden-Moses – Oliver Holden-Moses is a percussionist studying at Northwestern in Chicago. At 19, Oliver is the youngest ever Saints Sessions Featured Artist. His House Band consists of his mentors like Adam Ledbetter, Grant Goldstein, and Jared Cathey. Oliver’s teacher, Jemar Poteat is also likely make an appearance, and our amazing emcee Chanda Graham will make sure everyone feel alright. $5 at the door.
The Savoy Trio – The Savoy Trio is an established Jazz Trio bringing traditional jazz standards. They’re at Saints January 11th, 8 p.m.
The Adam Ledbetter Trio – Adam Ledbetters third Thursday residency continues January 18th at Saints. Adam Ledbetter’s Trio is the standard bearer for the OKC Jazz Scene, so this is the place to get the real thing.
The Brian Belanus Combo – Jazz guitartist Brian Belanus has been writing and recording music for a new jazz project. Come get a taste January 25th at Saints as Brian brings his new tunes. No cover.
The International Trumpet Guild Jams hosted by Jay Wilkinson – January 26th and 27th, former Saints Sessions Featured Artists Jay Wilkinson will be hosting jam sessions for the International Trumpet Guild Regional Conference. The Regional Conference is held at the Bass School of Music at OCU and organzied by Michael Anderson. We’re stoked to see musicians from all over swingin in Saints. No cover charge!
