The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus chats about upcoming show

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus chats about upcoming show

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is one of the most iconic pop-punk bands of all time, and we are so excited to welcome them back to OKC for their performance at 89th St. Collective Aug 30. We got to chat with them a little bit about their upcoming OKC show and their new single!

You may recognize them from their 2004 hit “Face Down.” You know, that song every teenager has rocked out to with the radio cranked up and their windows down? Top-notch teenage angst material.

“I love the feeling that I get when I see the look on someone’s face in the crowd who loves the new music and then we start up ‘Face Down,’ and you see them realize we are that same band,” lead singer Ron Winter said.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is still going strong after 16 years together, and they just released their new single “Shooting Star (Radio Mix 2019),” which deals with a personal journey of recovery.

“It’s a true story much like our first song ‘Face Down’ and is a chance for us to encourage those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction to get help. It’s a chance to show them they are not alone and that they can recover to live healthy, happy lives – as we have lived through ourselves, first hand.”

Ron Winter

This isn’t the first time Red Jumpsuit Apparatus has brought their talents to OKC. Winter said he remembers their last show being very hot, but he loved it and knew the crowd was just rockin’ out.

“We have a lot of long-time fans that go way back with us in OKC,” Winter said. “We’re always happy to see them!”

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus has been a band for sixteen years now, and Winter said they’ve reached a point where they really only perform where they like. He said OKC is naturally on that list because they’ve had so many good memories performing here.

In fact, Winter is a fan of some local music here in Oklahoma, especially the Tulsa-based Stars Go Dim. He said he listens to their self-titled album at least once a week.

We can’t wait to witness Red Jumpsuit Apparaus at 89th St. Collective this Friday!
