Original Flow isn’t just one of Oklahoma City’s top emcees, he puts on legit hip-hop events like Lyricist Lounge at Saints. A key feature of his events is that Flow is always elevating other artists. In addition to his role at Hubbly Bubbly, Original Flow runs Lyricist Lounge at Saints in the Plaza District. Every fourth Monday of the month, expect dope verses, mad collabs, and a lot more. Here’s what Lyricist Lounge is all about.
Elevating Artists
Original Flow curates a lineup with a theme. He’s done Women in Hip-hop, Tulsa Artists, Thoughtful Vibes of Hip-Hop, and a ton of others. He ends up with a really different show each time and brings artists together that might not otherwise meet.
On top of that, Flow is collaborating constantly which allows him to sit-in with his guests. He’ll spit his own verse from the recording he did with that artist. He’s able to perfectly navigate the ‘performing emcee’ dynamic. Making the band and audience look great in his introductions while performing as a rapper.
Promoting Local Business
Flow also uses his platform as a chance for local businesses and artists to promote themselves between sets. It’s casual. Hop on stage and say a few words about what you do. He’s had people like Deleah Tishay and OkSessions step up to say a few words about their efforts in the music scene.
Original Flow also invites out local artists to live-paint, photograph the show, and or sell indie clothing lines.
