SATURN celebrates 16 years with new single “Heaven Help”

SATURN is a three-piece band from OKC, they are currently celebrating 16 years together and are releasing a single titled “Heaven Help” along with a lyric video. It’s their first new single since the release of their 2018 EP “Stomping Grounds,” and it represents an evolution of that release’s sound (described by Tulsa’s Starcatcher Magazine as somewhere between Black Sabbath and Gorillaz)

“Heaven Help” is a large, developing piece, beginning with a stark, pulsing synth tone and progressing through explosive hard-rock choruses, a sparse, guitar-and-vocal-driven middle act, and a climactic finale that combines and recontextualizes the musical themes throughout.

The artwork for the track is a photo-manipulation by local visual artist Maurice Perez titled “Stretching Canvases,” and the accompanying lyric video introduces a subtle movement to the artwork, before a not-so-subtle shift during the choruses.

This new single release is just the beginning for this new phase of SATURN. They’ll soon be shooting a full live performance video session with Mental Media, and have plans to release a full-scale music video for “Heaven Help” with local filmmaker Jake Kelley.
