Mad Honey release first EP “Theories”

Mad Honey just released their first EP “Theories” to quite a bit of fanfare.

This release incorporates a wide range of influences, from Taylor Swift to My Bloody Valentine. These eclectic influences really come through in the music, with wide, lush guitar tones complimenting dreamy vocals. You can definitely hear how much Mad Honey have matured since their first single “Cruel to Know”, with this EP feeling like a far more focused effort.

There are also bolder choices in instrumentation on this release, aside from the regular synth, drums, guitars, and bass, this EP incorporates a violin on the opening track “MAD” (played by Nia Personette from Annie Oakley) as well as a vocoder. Not only does the vision feel more focused, and the musical decisions bolder, the production on this album (done by Wyatt Clem of The Ivy) feels far more polished and pristine than past releases, which really lends itself to this style of music.

Overall this EP is a fantastic first effort that stays true to the roots and style Mad Honey has established, while bringing some new ideas to the table!
