Lane Moore is an award-winning stand-up comedian from New Yok City, and she’s bringing her show “Tinder LIVE!” to the Tower Theatre. This show was named on the New York Times’ Critic’s Picks, and it’s received tons of praise from top-notch organizations and is even getting hype from Ellen Degeneres. Lane Moore is a badass female comedian, and we’re hyped for her show at the Tower Theatre on Sat. Jan. 26. Gonna be dope. Tickets are available here.

Life Organics in Norman is hosting Midweek music every Wednesday with Layers of Pink on Feb. 6, Gordon McKinney on Feb. 13, Sarah Reid on Fe. 20, and Felina and the Feels on Feb. 27.

Christian Pearson is preparing to announce next steps for Skirvin Jazz Club and the first headliners for a new collaboration with the Blue Door.

is a CBD cafe in the heart of Campus Corner in Norman, OK that is doing free and all ages music on a regular basis. Our weekly series continues every Wednesday featuring Cedar Micaelah on 1/16 and our back to school psych show features Kauri and Lost Cosmos on 1/19. The following week features are main show of the month with Labrys, LCG & The X, and Costello on 1/26.

Gall has two single releases coming up: All Eyes Closed releases Jan 18, and Try releases Feb 8.

Jared Lowery, Kangwa Mundende, and Willie Peterson give their FIRST LIVE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE at Artspace at Untitled last week. They Opened with a couple of tunes and then sat down for a compelling conversation and shared the story about how they met and came together. Kangwa and Willie also speak about what their experiences have been like while performing Jared’s original compositions and how it has informed their approach to the music. Singer-Songwriter Giakob Lee is playing every Friday in January at the Colony in Tulsa from 6-8.

Garrison Brown went to JEN Conference in Reno, Nevada, met a cute girl, went skiing in the mountains (in jeans), went to a dope concert, and is now back in OKC feeling inspired to create music.

Amplify Hotsheet: Week of January 9

Cade Roth and the Blacksheep is in the studio working on an EP to put out this Spring! Follow them on social to keep up with them, and check out this live video to get a feel of their music!

Equilibrium is playing a show at the UCO Jazz Lab Jan 11 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10, and the show is all ages! This show features – Than Medlam on guitar and vocals, Greg Zink on keys, Clinton Trench on bass, Chubb Moses on drums, Zachary Lee on trombone, Joshua Watley on trumpet, Jared Cathey on tenor sax, Chris Hicks on alto sax, Chase McCumber on vocals, Emily McCumber on vocals, and Tara Dillard Palmer on vocals. Equilibrium is a pop/rock/jazz fusion explosion, and they also just so happen to be Deep Deuce Sessions alums!

And in other Equilibrium-related news, a new episode of Inspiring Conversations with Jeff Krisman features a with Equilibrium’s Than Medlam about how he started playing music and how Equilibrium has evolved over time. Than discusses his profound thoughts, philosophy, and approach to his music.

Tig Blues is an Oklahoma City-based musician who has two new original songs as well as some new media content. Tig has been playing guitar since he was 15 and has been writing lyrics for even longer. He said his “aha” moment was when he realized he could play guitar and rap at the same time. Tig’s music is a fusion of hip-hop, alternative blues, and soul and sounds a little bit like Jack White and Lauryn Hill had a baby. There’s also influences from anywhere from Led Zeppelin to Death Cab for Cutie. Tig got a shoutout from the Oklahoma Gazette Instagram this week, and he started a GoFundMe to get studio time and music equipment. He’s currently recording his first EP and playing shows around OKC and Norman. Below is his performance on Fox25’s Living Oklahoma on Jan. 1.

Travels by Night is releasing their debut album, What We Came Here to Do, Feb 1 2019. With a retro-indie eighties vibe, the album explores themes of kinship, corruption, spirituality, and loneliness. 

This week, Travels by Night released their first music video for the song, “Turned On.”  It was filmed in Paris, France, when the band met up this past May with some footage from Scotland, Ireland, and Norman, Oklahoma. Neal Koga, a pilgrim translator in Germany, plays guitar, bass, and rubab. Eric Bosse, a college professor writer, plays guitar and keyboard. Both sing and sequence drum tracks. This is their second band together – the first being Gothic Luau.

Chanda Graham is the featured vocalist for Skirvin Jazz Club Jan 18th! This event is fully reserved but there will be standing room by the bar, so come on out next Friday. Also, go ahead and RSVP for the February edition of Skirvin Jazz Club here.

Zoe Travers is excited about Abbigale Dawn’s new band “the Makebelieve,” who play at the Opolis Jan. 11.

Amplify Hotsheet: Week of January 2

Tony Foster Jr. released two singles, “Love on the Moon” and “Come Around.” TFJ tumblers are now on sale! $25 each, $35 for a tumbler/t-shirt combo.

Spunk Adams is playing at VZDs February 8.

Norman ska punk band Irrational Consumers is playing with the Nobodys and Naeco January 5 at the Resonator. This show is all ages.

An Artistic Conversation With David Goad About Kali Ra, His Current Musical Project, And His Life Journey: In this episode, Jeff sits down with David Goad to hear some very deep thoughts about how Kali Ra came into being, about his life journey and formative experiences, some very deep reflections about the music that resonates most deeply with him, and about his process of composition and songwriting.

Jazz pianist Alyssa Kozlowski will be playing a variety of jazz repertoire, from Dixieland to R&B at Saints Sessions Jan. 3. She will be joined by Rei Wang, Dave Bowen, Dwight Ham, Joe Barger, and Special Guests Tara Dillard Palmer and Claire Peirsol. 

Schat and The Skeleton Trees have been recording a song called  “Hang On” at Bell Labs Recording in Norman with engineer/producer Trent Bell.  It is a song for Suicide Prevention and Awareness. 

OkSessions co-founder Christian Pearson is excited about the nextTiny Town Concert Episode with Beau Jennings. He’s also pumped about the Saints Sessions lineup for January 2019 and a new Tuesday night jazz show at the Blue Door. Christian interviewed the featured vocalist for Skirvin Jazz Club 1/18/19 and will be announcing them next week.

Christian said he’s stoked about Jemar Poteat performing at The Blue Door January 11. It’s Jemar’s last headlining show before he moves to LA.



Zoe Travers is excited about Annie Oakley’s Homecoming show with Abbigale Dawn and the Make Believe as well as the Coop Showcase with John Calvin Abney, Samantha Crain, and White.
Zoe’s been listening to the Oklahoma Rock Show best songs of 2018, and she’s hyped about Kat Lock’s new music video.



Elizabeth Speegle is recording vocals this week at Castle RowJeremy Thomas and Hamza Lee are producing. ESB has an all-originals show at VZDs January 10th.



Singer-songwriter Grant Adams worked with guitarist Danny Argot and Producer/Engineer Stuart Adams on a new track titled “Sink or Swim.” The song is one of ten Grant will release in 2019 as part of a full-length album.

Mad Honey has a new single out on Spotify called “Cruel to Know” with plans to release some new music next year. They are also playing a show
the 19th of January with Pigments at the Opolis in Norman!



Jan 10th, 2019, Jared Lowery is playing at Artspace Untitled with Willie Peterson and Kangwa Mundende for a show with Jeff Krisman and his podcast, He’ll be unveiling some new originals and performing some previous releases. “I also have a third album I’m working on called “The Dissident” for 2019 and I’m real excited about this as I will include as many of the most talented OKC musicians I can find to express themselves on some tunes I came up with. Jazz musicians and beyond.”
