Oklahoma flower rock band Carly Gwin and the Sin debuted their new music video for “You Can Feel Sad” today, and it’s absolutely magical.
“You Can Feel Sad” is the first video for the band, and it’s definitely a strong start. The band is made up of Carly Gwin on vocals and guitar, Patrick Roberts on guitar, Kevin Fries on bass, and Zach Nedbalek on drums.
The new video is a little bit Flaming Lips meets Annie Oakley, with a sort of indie ‘70s vibe. It’s classic and calming, like a Carole King photoshoot. It’s a little bit hippie, a little bit trippy, and a little bit rock n roll. If you’re a fan of Oklahoma indie bands like Twiggs, Spinster, and Mad Honey, you’ll dig this.
Dylan Johnson, who’s had his photography featured in Rolling Stone, Vice, and NPR, directed the music video, and he put his signature dreamy and kaleidoscopic twist on it.
With shots from Factory Obscura’s “Beyond” exhibit, it’s sure to spark some Okie interest.
Carly Gwin and the Sin play 51st st. Speakeasy Feb. 2 with Lacey Elaine.
