In an intimate studio stage under the heights of Tower Theatre the uber-quaint Nashville band, Birdtalker, captured the hearts of many fans. This warm room was filled with their folk sounds. The show began with an angelic harmony between the lead singers, Zach and Dani Green, as they proceeded to overwhelm the space with love and heartfelt lyrics and you could feel the passion in their voices and musical melodies.
This five-piece band started in 2012 after Zach and Dani Green were married. Their mutual passion for music drove them to start making music together. Dani’s musical background of her father being a songwriter in Nashville was a kinship to Zack’s mother being a concert pianist. Zach was playing cover gigs in coffee shops throughout college when they began to collaborate. The duo quickly flourished, becoming a “local act not to be missed” As Zach went to college, other members fluttered in, and they became the remarkable ‘Birdtalker.’
On this October evening in Oklahoma City, Birdtalker’s sound moved the entire audience with their passion for their songs, and deliberate earnestness in sharing their love with one another.
The show allowed the crowd to feel so personal with the band; it seemed like we were all invited in to sit on the couch and drink zinfandel together.
They brought the full five-piece up to end the show after an intimate section when they became a two piece of just Zach and Dani. They moved through their more personal songs, such as one of their hits, “My Lover,“; the two of them in harmony accompanied by an acoustic guitar.
There are not a lot of bands that can exhibit the same raw sound from the studio to their live performance, and they mastered that.
