5 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas for Music Fans in Oklahoma City, 2019

Chocolates, roses, and a candlelit dinner make for a nice Valentine’s Day, but for those who want to make 2019 an unforgettable night out, we’ve compiled a list of 5 awesome live experiences happening on Valentine’s Day in Oklahoma City (and Edmond). Some of these are great Galentines ideas too. So whether you’re a love bird or flying solo, don’t sleep on these awesome date night experiences for February 14th, 2019.

1. Chanda Graham at Saints Sessions, Plaza District

Chanda Graham is one of OKC’s top local jazz and blues artists, and she’s putting together a very special show at Saints for Valentine’s Day. Ranging from entertaining blues choruses to beautiful jazz ballads, Chanda’s repertoire and musical prowess will make you and your lover laugh, cheer, and fall deeper in love. Saints’ kitchen serves bar-b-que (BBQ is my love language), and they will be doing tablecloths and candles for this special show.

2. Donuts. Wines. Valentines! Live Jazz at Evoke ft. the Jared Cathey Trio, Downtown Edmond

Cafe Evoke in downtown Edmond is hosting the Jared Cathey Trio from 7-10pm and treating local lovers to donuts and wines from Underwood, Maison Noir, and Charles Smith. Of course, Evoke always features an excellent coffee bar. This could be your main Valentine’s date spot, a drink before dinner, or after dinner treats. Check out the Facebook Event below for more info.

3. “Blake Shelton: Friends & Heroes 2019” at Chesapeake Energy Arena, Downtown OKC

If you’re looking to show off your new boots, check out Blake Shelton at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Downtown OKC. The Oklahoma-born country superstar is pure charisma. Major concerts are always memorable, so this is a good way to make the date stand out. Of course, this is an awesome idea for groups of friends as well. The performance includes very special guest Lauren Alaina and special appearances by The Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson, & Trace Adkins.

4. August Burns Red ‘The Dangerous Tour’ at the Diamond Ballroom, South OKC

Sometimes love is soft and gentle. Sometimes it’s a scream-fest with flashing lights, heavy electric guitar riffs, pyrotechnics, a massive crowd a mosh pit… I think I forgot what analogy I’m trying to make here… anyway, American metalcore band ‘August Burns Red’ is playing the Diamond Ballroom on Valentine’s Day. Check out the Facebook event below!

5. A Gentri Valentine – 3 Tenors at OCCC, South OKC

If classical music is more your speed, check out A Gentri Valentine. They’re performing at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at OCCC. From the Facebook Event: “GENTRI was established in June 2014 and is comprised of three dynamic tenors who all have extensive backgrounds in musical theatre. Pioneering a signature sound they call “Cinematic Pop”, the music of GENTRI is transfused with lush, epic orchestrations and rich, dynamic three-part harmonies.” Sounds like a nice Valentine’s Day show 🙂

Going out on Friday, February 15th? Here are two bonus ideas for Valentine’s Day Weekend in OKC:

1. ‘Art of Romance‘ – Live Music and Visual Art Show at Cellar Cafe and Bar, Asian District

The ‘Art of Romance’ is the first live music event organized by Grand Gentlemen, a local lifestyle brand focused on building gentlemen culture through fashion, media, and live events. The show will feature live musicians and artists. Proceeds benefit the Grand Gents’ ‘Man of the Year’ Scholarship.

2. Skirvin Jazz Club – An Immersive Live Jazz Experience in Oklahoma’s Most Historic Hotel, Downtown OKC

Skirvin Jazz Club will happen again at the Skirvin Hotel in Downtown Oklahoma City. Seating for the February 15th show is fully reserved, but there will be standing room and an afterparty in the Red Piano Lounge. The February Skirvin Jazz Club is free admission!

We can’t wait to see you lovebirds out on the town February 14th. Be sure to spread the love this month!
